Junk Removal, Cleanouts & Dumpster Rentals
Should I book junk removal or rent a dumpster?
Choose junk removal when you want Starrett to carry, load and haul the approved material. A 15-yard dumpster fits projects you want to sort and load yourself over several days. Stairs, heavy items, carrying distance, parking and the time you have available help determine the better option.
What does junk removal cost, and what is included?
The single-item minimum is $200. Published trailer-volume prices are $270 for one-eighth, $370 for one-quarter, $470 for one-half and $550 for a full load. Standard labor, loading, hauling, fuel and disposal are included. Describe unusual or heavy material and difficult access before accepting a quote; final pricing depends on the approved scope.
Can you handle a whole house, estate, rental or office cleanout?
Yes. Starrett evaluates single rooms, garages, basements, estates, rental turnovers, office contents and full property cleanouts. Send photos of every area, identify items that must stay, and show the complete loading route. Multi-load work is quoted around total volume, material, labor and access—not assumed to fit one trailer price.
How much is the 15-yard dumpster, and how long can I keep it?
The published rental is $350 for two days with one ton included. Each additional day through day seven is $25, and weight above the included ton is $95 per ton. The container is approximately 7 feet wide, 14 feet long and 4 feet high. Delivery, placement, accepted material and availability must be confirmed.
What should contractors send for construction debris removal?
Send the material list, approximate volume, whether debris is loose or piled, and the route to the loading area. Identify heavy material separately rather than estimating by pile size alone. Starrett can compare crew-loaded hauling with a dumpster for renovation debris, decking, rental turnovers and approved demolition cleanup.

Forestry Mulching, Brush & Property Access
How much does forestry mulching cost?
Light Clearing is $250 per hour with a $1,000 four-hour minimum; Dense Clearing is $275 per hour with a $1,100 minimum; Heavy Clearing is $300 per hour with a $1,200 minimum. Density, stem size, terrain, access, obstacles and requested finish determine the level. Travel beyond 20 miles from California, Kentucky, is quoted separately. Confirm the complete estimate before scheduling.
Does mulching remove roots, stumps and all future regrowth?
No. Forestry mulching processes approved vegetation and leaves organic material on the surface; it is not a guarantee of root removal, stump removal, lawn-ready soil or permanent elimination of regrowth. Explain whether your goal is improved visibility, usable access or a later grading project so separate work can be identified.
Can you reopen fence lines, trails and pond approaches?
Starrett evaluates overgrown fence rows, existing trails, new access routes and pond approaches when ground conditions and machine access are suitable. Mark boundaries, vegetation to retain, old fence wire, utilities and obstacles. Send approximate length, desired width, slopes and the full access route. Wet areas and steep terrain may limit the scope.
Is land clearing the same as grading or skid-steer work?
Not always. Removing vegetation may leave mulch, stumps or uneven ground. Root removal, hauling, grading, driveway cut-ins and material handling can be separate stages with different equipment and finish requirements. Tell Starrett the final use of the area before quoting rather than assuming a clearing price includes every later stage.
Why consider clearing during fall or winter?
Thinner vegetation can make fence lines, trail routes, hidden obstacles and the extent of overgrowth easier to evaluate. Cooler-weather planning can prepare access before spring regrowth. Fall is not automatically the best season for every property: safe weather, soft ground, slopes, access and the approved scope determine when equipment work is suitable.

Demolition & Debris Cleanup
What affects a shed or structure-demolition quote?
Dimensions, construction material, contents, utilities, surrounding structures, machine access and hauling volume all affect the plan. Foundations, slabs, buried material and grading should be discussed separately. Send every side, interior contents and the access route so teardown, loading, haul-off and final loose-debris cleanup can be clearly defined.
Do you demolish mobile homes and haul away the debris?
Starrett evaluates mobile-home demolition with loading, hauling and cleanup as part of the agreed scope. Include dimensions, photos, interior contents, attached decks, utility status, foundation details and equipment access. Required utility disconnections, permits and material concerns must be resolved before work; acceptance and final pricing are project-specific.
Can I book debris removal after someone else does the demolition?
Yes, approved demolition debris can be evaluated for loading and hauling without booking the teardown. Show the complete pile, material types, large or heavy pieces, equipment room and loading access. Describe potentially hazardous or unidentified materials before scheduling; do not mix unknown material into an ordinary debris quote.
Why plan unwanted-structure removal before winter or spring projects?
An unused shed, deck or similar structure can interfere with access, storage or a future project. Planning now allows time to review contents, utilities, permits, access and cleanup before additional deterioration or spring construction. Timing depends on safe site and weather conditions; Starrett does not promise a weather-independent completion date.
